Sixnewpolyoxygenatedbriarane-typediterpenoids,briaexcavatinsQ–T(1–4)androbustolidesJ(5)andK(6),wereisolatedfromaculturedoctocoralBriareumexcavatumandaseawhipgorgoniancoralEllisellarobusta,respectively.Thestructuresofbriaranes1–6wereestablishedbyspectroscopicmethods.Briarane3exhibitedweakcytotoxicitytowardCCRF-CEMtumorcellsandbriaranes5and6displayedinhibitoryeffectsonsuperoxideaniongenerationbyhumanneutrophils.
