Thisstudyexaminestheeffectsofgender,glovedcondition,andthelocationofhandonthepressure-paintolerance(PPTo)atdifferentfingerskintemperature(FST).Theexperimentaldesignisacombinationofnested-factorialandsplit-plot.Tenmenandtenwomenwererecruitedandnestedwithinthegender.Theglovedlevelincludesbarehand,wearingoneortwolayersoflatexgloves.TheFSTlevelsare15,20,and25℃,andFSTisconsideredasthewholeplot.Thehandlocationincludesfingers,metacarpal,andpalm;fourtestpointsareselectedfromeachlocationandnestedwithinthelocation.Thisexperimentwasperformedinawaterimmersion.TheANOVAresultindicatesthatmenPPTo(7.3kg)aregreaterthanthoseforwomen(5kg).PPToat25℃istheleast.Additionally,themorelayersofglovesareworn,thegreaterPPToareobserved.Astothelocationeffect,PPToonpalmandmetacarpalisthehighestandtheleast,respectively. |
